From May 17th to 20th, 2025, the 2025 Member Conference and the 4th Meeting of the 11th Board of Directors of the Belt Conveyor Branch of the China Heavy Machinery Industry Association, themed "Delivering Hope   Innovating the Future," was successfully held in Yuanping City, Shanxi Province. This grand event attracted nearly 300 member representatives, industry experts, and scholars from all over the country. They gathered together to discuss the development trends and innovative paths of the belt conveyor industry, contributing ideas for the industry's prosperity and progress.

Board of Directors Meeting: 凝聚共识，共谋发展

On the afternoon of May 17th, the 4th Meeting of the 11th Board of Directors of the Belt Conveyor Branch was held first. The meeting began with a comprehensive summary of the work in 2024. The directors carefully reviewed the "Work Report" and the "Financial Work Report." The meeting reviewed the achievements of the industry in 2024 in terms of technological innovation, market expansion, and member services, and conducted an in-depth analysis of existing problems, pointing the way for future work.

The meeting also reviewed the list of new member units in 2025 and announced the list of units that withdrew in 2025.

In the discussion session on proposals from the board of directors, representatives actively spoke on hot issues related to industry development, putting forward many constructive opinions and suggestions covering technological innovation cooperation, market expansion strategies, and the improvement of industry standards.

Finally, Wang Jisheng, honorary president of the China Heavy Machinery Industry Association, delivered a summary speech, giving high praise to the development of the Belt Conveyor Association and the work of the secretariat. He hoped that the belt conveyor industry would seize opportunities, meet challenges, further strengthen technological innovation, improve product quality, and promote the sustainable development of the industry. At the same time, he hoped that the branch would continue to play a leading role and contribute to the high-quality development of China's heavy machinery industry.

Zhang Yanjun, vice secretary-general, also commented on the association's activities, affirming the achievements of the branch and bringing the board meeting to a successful conclusion.

Member Conference: Striking a Strong Note of Development

On the morning of May 18th, the member conference officially opened with the playing of the national anthem. The conference was presided over by Zhang Rongjian, secretary-general of the Belt Conveyor Branch.

Zhang Weihua, deputy mayor of Yuanping City, delivered an enthusiastic speech. He first extended a sincere welcome to the representatives on behalf of the Yuanping Municipal Committee and Municipal Government. He stated that Yuanping City would continue to support the development of the belt conveyor industry by optimizing the business environment, strengthening policy support, and deepening industry-academia-research cooperation to create better development conditions for enterprises. He also hoped that the representatives and experts and scholars could take full advantage of this opportunity to strengthen exchanges and cooperation, jointly promoting technological innovation and industrial upgrading in the belt conveyor industry.

Yang Zhixin, chairman of Shanxi Dongchang Industrial Co., Ltd., stated that holding this conference in Yuanping City is not only an affirmation of Shanxi Dongchang Industrial Co., Ltd., but also a recognition of Yuanping City's belt conveyor industry. Meng Wenjun, vice president of the branch, briefed all representatives on the 4th Meeting of the 11th Board of Directors of the Belt Conveyor Branch held on the afternoon of May 17th, giving everyone a clear understanding of the results of the previous board meeting.

Li Ping, chairman of the Belt Conveyor Branch, delivered the 2024 Work Report of the Belt Conveyor Branch. The report was rich in content and highlighted key points, divided into three parts: The first part conducted an in-depth analysis of the current development status and trends of the belt conveyor industry, showcasing and sharing the innovative development achievements of some enterprises in the industry, providing valuable industry information and reference experience for the representatives; the second part briefly reviewed the work of the branch in 2024, summarizing the achievements and problems encountered in the past year, providing a reference for future work; and the third part detailed the key tasks for the branch in 2025, clarifying the work goals and tasks, and pointing the way for the future development of the branch.

Yang Jun, executive vice secretary-general, delivered the 2024 Financial Work Report of the Belt Conveyor Branch, reporting on the financial status of the branch with a rigorous attitude and detailed data, enhancing the transparency and credibility of the branch's work.

Zhang Yanjun, vice secretary-general of the China Heavy Machinery Industry Association, announced the decision to absorb new member units in 2025 and presided over the awarding ceremony for 26 new member units. A group of enterprises with strength and development potential officially joined the branch, injecting new vitality and strength into the branch.

Wang Jisheng, honorary president of the China Heavy Machinery Association, delivered a report entitled "Development Trends and Countermeasures of the Transportation Machinery Industry" at the conference, conducting an in-depth analysis of the opportunities and challenges facing the current transportation machinery industry and proposing industry development suggestions such as focusing on national strategies, rebuilding the industrial chain, strengthening AI empowerment, developing international markets, focusing on specialized and new enterprises, strengthening mutual benefit and collaboration, creating a good market environment, expanding industrial cultivation and agglomeration effects, and expanding the industry's market share.

Liang Dong, chief representative of the Beijing Representative Office of the International Copper Industry Association, delivered a report entitled "Current Status and Trends of the Copper Industry," providing a new perspective and ideas for the development of the belt conveyor industry from the perspective of the copper industry, broadening the knowledge and vision of the representatives.

Special Reports: A Collision of Wisdom, Inspiring Innovation

The special reports on the afternoon of May 18th were spectacular. Hosted by Yang Jun, vice secretary-general of the branch, five experts from different fields delivered special reports, sharing their research results and practical experience.

Yin Renqiang, chief engineer of Shanxi Dongchang Industrial Co., Ltd., detailed the company's basic situation and development history, showcasing the company's technological strength and innovative achievements in the field of belt conveyors;

Professor Song Weigang from Northeastern University conducted an in-depth discussion on "The Concept, Determination Method, and Main Results of the Indentation Rolling Resistance of Belt Conveyors," analyzing the impact of indentation rolling resistance on the performance of belt conveyors and bringing cutting-edge academic research results and technological application prospects to the representatives; suggestions for optimized design and operation were proposed, which have strong practical guiding significance;

Wu Mingde, general manager of Harbin Bearing Group Co., Ltd., shared a report entitled "From the Cradle of China's Bearing Industry to Technological Breakthrough and Ecological Construction in the Conveyor Industry," explaining the important role and development potential of bearing technology in the conveyor industry, and how to achieve ecological construction and sharing through technological innovation;

Han Qiang, marketing director of Qingdao Baorui Fu Rubber and Plastics Co., Ltd., introduced the company's advanced concepts and practical experience as a "low-carbon intelligent conveying service expert for bulk materials," providing valuable reference for low-carbon development and intelligent transformation in the belt conveyor industry;

Lang Xueliang, deputy general manager of Dalian Kedu Hydraulic Transmission Technology Co., Ltd., gave an in-depth explanation of the "Application and Promotion of Valve-Controlled Extended-Fill Limited-Torque Hydraulic Couplers," showcasing the advantages and application cases of this technology in improving conveyor performance and reliability.

On the morning of May 19, the attendees visited Shanxi Dongchang Industrial Co., Ltd. and the Yuanping Coal Machinery Association exhibition hall for exchanges. At Shanxi Dongchang Industrial Co., Ltd., the representatives gained an in-depth understanding of the company's production processes, technological research and development, and product applications, gaining a more intuitive understanding of the company's innovative achievements and development model in the field of belt conveyors; at the Yuanping Coal Machinery Association exhibition hall, everyone learned about the development history and achievements of the Yuanping coal machinery industry through visiting various exhibits and display materials, further deepening their understanding of the application and importance of the belt conveyor industry in coal transportation and other fields. Through on-site visits and learning, the attendees not only broadened their horizons and increased their knowledge, but also provided more opportunities and possibilities for future corporate cooperation and development.
