On March 11, our city held a signing and unveiling ceremony for city-university cooperation with Taiyuan University of Science and Technology. Bai Peikang, Secretary of the Party Committee of Taiyuan University of Science and Technology, and Liang Weiguo, Vice Secretary of the Party Committee and President, attended and spoke. Feng Xiaoning, Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee of our city, also attended and spoke. Chang Yongfeng, Vice Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Mayor, presided over the meeting. Municipal leaders Liang Lijun, Zhang Junsheng, Zhang Jinrong, Zhang Weihua, and Li Baoshan, as well as heads of relevant departments and coal machinery enterprise leaders, attended the signing ceremony.

Before the meeting, municipal leaders and leaders from Taiyuan University of Science and Technology visited our company's roller workshop for an exchange. Yang Zhixin, Chairman of our company, and Yin Renqiang, Vice President of Technology, personally accompanied them and explained the roller production process.

At the meeting, attendees watched a promotional video of Yuanping City. Zhang Weihua introduced the overall situation of Yuanping City's coal machinery industry; Liang Weiguo introduced the university's situation and the city-university-enterprise cooperation intentions.
Feng Xiaoning pointed out that the formal signing of a strategic cooperation agreement with Taiyuan University of Science and Technology is another major measure for Yuanping City to deepen its "strong city through talent" and "innovation-driven" strategies. It is also a vivid practice of both the university and the local government in implementing the deployment of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China on the "integration of education, science and technology, and talent." As a resource-based city in central Shanxi, Yuanping has recently focused on the main direction of "industrial transformation and energy revolution," striving to build new industrial clusters such as a specialized town for coal machinery equipment manufacturing, a green electricity park, and a hydrogen energy application demonstration base. Taiyuan University of Science and Technology has top-level disciplinary advantages in mechanical engineering, materials science, and intelligent manufacturing, which highly coincides with Yuanping's industrial layout driven by "coal machinery + new energy." This signing is a strategic choice for both sides to connect their "needs" with their "abilities" and leverage "growth points" with "intellectual high points."
Feng Xiaoning emphasized that city-university cooperation should closely follow Yuanping's actual situation and cultivate it in three dimensions. First, jointly build innovation platforms and overcome "key technologies." Focusing on the intelligent coal machinery equipment, new energy material research and development, and low-carbon coal chemical industry, jointly establish key laboratories or engineering technology centers, and promote the "first trial and first use" of Taiyuan University of Science and Technology's scientific research achievements in Yuanping. Second, jointly cultivate skilled talents and solve "structural shortages." Implement "order-based training" and "dual-teacher training" models, and provide targeted training for professionals in mechanical manufacturing and energy engineering; support the university's expert team and Yuanping enterprises to jointly build "professor workstations" to conduct technical training and project incubation. Third, jointly promote industrial upgrading and open up the "last mile." Establish a mechanism for two-way docking of scientific and technological achievement transformation lists and enterprise demand lists, and focus on promoting the industrialization of the university's patented technologies in intelligent mine equipment and hydrogen energy storage and transportation in Yuanping enterprises. Yuanping will create a benchmark for city-university cooperation with "three bests": the best policy support, implementing a "case-by-case" approach for school-enterprise cooperation projects and opening up green channels in land use, funding, and approval; the strongest special team to promote, with a municipal-level leadership team established, implementing a mechanism of "monthly consultation, quarterly evaluation, and annual assessment"; and the best service environment, implementing measures for attracting, cultivating, using, and retaining talent, providing scientific research subsidies, housing security, and other special services for university experts, allowing talents to achieve both fame and fortune.
Bai Peikang expressed the hope that, with the good start of this signing, the city-university cooperation system and mechanism will be continuously improved, in-depth school-enterprise precise docking will be carried out, and major projects will be jointly applied for, with enterprise technical needs as the guide, jointly building scientific and technological innovation platforms, carrying out collaborative school-enterprise research, and promoting complementary advantages and win-win cooperation between schools and localities and schools and enterprises.


At the signing ceremony, Zhang Weihua, Deputy Mayor, signed a city-university cooperation agreement on behalf of the Yuanping Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government and Li Jinhong, Dean of the Institute of Science and Technology of Taiyuan University of Science and Technology; Yang Zhixin and Wu Meisheng, representatives of Yuanping enterprises, signed school-enterprise cooperation agreements with Li Jinhong and Huang Zhiquan of Taiyuan University of Science and Technology.
Bai Peikang and Feng Xiaoning jointly unveiled the signs for the "Taiyuan University of Science and Technology Internship and Practical Training Base," "Taiyuan University of Science and Technology Achievement Transformation Base," and "Taiyuan University of Science and Technology Think Tank Cooperation Base."
